Automatic Hydraulic Flood Barrier
A self-closing, non-electrical automatic flood defence system
The Automatic Hydraulic Flood Barrier is a passive flood defence measure which is highly suitable for rapid onset flooding, when there is little time to deploy manual measures. They are therefore especially beneficial for areas that are prone to flash flooding or areas vulnerable to tidal surges.
This system can either be embedded flush into the ground or surface-mounted.
In the event of a flood, when water flows into the lower part of the water defence door leaf and reaches a trigger value, the buoyancy pushes the front end of the water defence door leaf up to achieve automatic water defence with the rising water.
A warning light flashes each time the barrier is activated to warn the onset of pedestrians or vehicles.
Prior to a flood event, this automatic flood barrier can also be opened manually and locked into place. Where severe weather is forecast, the barrier can then be raised and secured in advance for immediate protection.
Automatic hydraulic barriers are well-suited to underground car park entrances, service yards, pedestrian access routes, loading bays, and critical infrastructure sites.
